Scouse Kiss - A Discothèque Credits Edit

by Discothèque Credits

/

about

➜ It’s 1989 and PWL Studios has become a pop-making machine.
➜ Liverpool-based Sonia Evans has dropped her surname and is riding high at #1 in the UK pop charts.
➜ Phil Harding is chief engineer at PWL, and turns over an extended mix of "You'll Never Stop Me Loving You" - clearly ‘inspired’ by Chicago house music pioneer, Lil’ Louis.
➜ We say inspired…Harding has rebuilt a version of ‘French Kiss’ from scratch - and then reworked the arrangement around the aforementioned pop song - which in itself is no mean feat. But…
➜ We're not sure Chicago House meets Liverpool Power Pop works.
➜ Discothèque Credits revive Harding's’ mix into a dub that never was.
➜ A hypnotic loop, some TR 909 overdubs + those snare rolls.
➜ No Sonia. No groaning. Just a Scouse Kiss.
